The Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, is known to showcase national flags of friendly countries on important occasions.

The Indian national flag will not be displayed on the Burj Khalifa tonight.

“We have just learned from our friends in Emaar that on account of a major technical snag they won’t be able to light up Burj Khalifa with the Indian tricolour tonight,” Navdeep Singh Suri, the Indian ambassador to the UAE, said.
 
“A bit of a disappointment for friends who were expecting this,” he added.

The Burj Khalifa, the world’s tallest building, is known to showcase national flags of friendly countries on important occasions. Flags of India and Pakistan have been showcased on the tower several times in the past.

The Pakistani national flag was not showcased on the Burj Khalifa on Wednesday, August 14, the country’s Independence Day.

Smart Dubai recently hosted the second meeting of the Dubai Future Council for Blockchain at its offices in the Dubai Design District (d3), bringing together local and global decision makers from various government departments and private companies with a vested interest in smart city technologies.
